Palma, The South West & West of Mallorca
The South West coast is the most well-known part of Mallorca. With Palma de Mallorca and the airport close-by, this is the area that wasw first developed for holiday makers.
However, don't expect the large-scale developments and over-development that is apparent in many coastal areas on the mainland. The developments are relatively small and there is a great focus on maintaining the beautiy of the Island.
Strict planning permissions and increasingly high demand for up-market property mean this will continue to be the case in years to come.
There is a lot variety in this area, ranging from older resorts such as Cala Major and San Agusti, to the new luxury apartment and townhouse developments of Santa Ponsa and Bendinat, on to the charm and style of Puerto de Andratx on the Western tip of Mallorca.
